Do I need a career coach?
How do you know if you need a career coach?
There are many reasons why seeing a career coach might be valuable for you. Here are a few examples I’ve encountered in my practice:
A parent who took 10+ years away from work to focus on their family and now wants to re-enter the workforce.
A highly experienced tech professional who was laid off 6+ months ago and has not yet landed a new job.
An entrepreneur and business owner seeking support in identifying corporate roles that align with their skill set and values.
A mid-level professional who knows they are unhappy in their current career path but needs help exploring alternative career options based on their strengths and interests.
A highly experienced program manager aiming to move up to Director or VP level and is seeking support in articulating their qualifications and competence for this next-level role.
A professional with an eclectic background needing assistance with telling their story and highlighting their strengths on a new resume.
Personally, I wish I had started seeing a career coach long before I did. It might have saved me many years of existential angst about my career and sense of purpose in the world.
Have you seen a career coach? If so, what prompted you to reach out?
